Client goal: Kennedy Floral and Gifts sought a landscape design that would catch the eye of passing traffic as well as encourage customers to stroll through an intimate garden setting. Providing material for creative arrangements throughout the seasons was an additional request.
Rooks’ solution: Lush and generous plantings were installed, providing wonderful seasonal harvests. As interest in the garden grew, the plantings were expanded and labels were added

Client goal: Cascade Township purchased the site of a former gas station with the idea of creating a “pocket park”. Adjoining the property was the old Cascade Township Hall and bike path. The garden would be seen by motorists as well as pedestrians and bicyclists.
Rooks’ solution: An interactive garden design plan was developed that integrated the old Township Hall and bike path with the addition of a drinking fountain, benches and a beautiful fir tree as centerpiece. Three entryways were also added to make the park accessible from all directions. The historic Hall was complemented by a picket fence, antique flowers and an intimate patio. Unique plantings and creative combinations add visual interest and plant labels provide helpful information for the many visitors. The Park has become a favorite place for wedding portraits, senior pictures and artists.

Client goal: The Ada Gardens were the idea of a group of Ada business owners who wanted to beautify their busy, highly traveled intersection. They referred to it as their “55mph landscape”.
Rooks’ solution: The design concept was to keep the look simple with large sweeps and bright colors that could be seen from a distance and help reduce noise levels. Spring bulbs such as daffodils, scilla and alliums give an early start to the blooming season and richly colored perennials extend interest well into the fall.

Client goal: The goal was to enhance the views from inside the clubhouse and provide year round interest. The client desired particular emphasis to be placed on creating a dynamic entryway to reflect the character of the facility. The design plan included huge front gates and seasonal urns.
Rooks' solution: The design integrated spacious views from the restaurant with lovely detailed plantings around the perimeter of the clubhouse. Elegant front gates and large scale urns greet members and visitors from spring through fall. Color, texture, fragrance and seasonal variety keep people coming back to enjoy the many offerings.

Client goal: The owner's of Wealthy at Charles, a contemporary home furnishings store, asked Rooks to develop an under-used side yard into a venue to display store merchandise. The site also serves as a residence for the owners and as such, needed to offer inviting and relaxing outdoor living space.
Rooks' solution: Rooks' chose to subdivide the site into a series of rooms. Framed by boxwood hedges, enhanced by beautiful plantings and peaceful water features, the garden encourages clients to enjoy a unique shopping experience.
